WHAT IS YOUR ROLE/POSITION IN MOTORCYCLING?
National Marketing Manager, BMW Motorrad USA. First woman elected to the Board of Directors for the Motorcycle Industry Council in USA. Named one of the Makers of Motorcycling by Motorcyclist Magazine.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO MOTORCYCLING?
In a whim. I mentioned to a friend that it would be cool and he knew of a good beginner bike that was for sale and encouraged me to look at it. Turned out to be a woman selling it and I felt comfortable asking my silly newbie questions. She was really helpful so I bought the bike and she pointed me to proper professional motorcycle training and I was hooked.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE/ENJOY IN MOTORCYCLING?
Operating a motorcycle is technical and I that is fun to me, no matter street, dirt, track, around town etc. what really makes motorcycling special is the camaraderie and global community of riders. On two wheels is the best way to explore new places and meet new people.
WHAT IS YOUR OBJECTIVE, YOUR GOAL?
Well, fun! I also enjoy challenging myself on technical rides and continuously learning more and more about motorcycles and riding.
WHY WOULD YOU RECOMMEND MOTORCYCLING?
It's fun, challenging and helps people develop a strong sense of self as you learn about and expand your limits and abilities. It's empowering. It's also fun to meet fellow women riders.
DO YOU HAVE A ROLE MODEL/MENTOR THAT ENCOURAGED YOU?
After I started riding I did start meeting great skilled riders which helped me better understand about safety and growing my skills. Clubs are great for that.
