WHAT IS YOUR ROLE/POSITION IN MOTORCYCLING?
I am a track-day rider and instructor.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO MOTORCYCLING?
Ever since I was young I've always wanted to ride. I started out at 15 riding a 50cc Honda MB and gradually moved on to bigger bikes as my experience grew.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE/ENJOY IN MOTORCYCLING?
I like the freedom it gives me when I ride, as well as the thrill of going fast and the satisfaction I get when I can feel my skills improve.
WHAT IS YOUR OBJECTIVE, YOUR GOAL?
Be better than I was yesterday. I would love to race in road racing, but as I live in Iceland, that is virtually impossible at the moment.
DO YOU HAVE A ROLE MODEL/MENTOR THAT ENCOURAGED YOU TO JOIN MOTORCYCLING?
I wouldn't say the encouraged it, but my parents helped me buy my first bike when they realised that this "nonsense" wasn't going away. In later years I've been lucky enough to meet great riders who inspire you to want to be better, Simon Crafar, Neil Hodgson and last but no least Maria Costello who is a true inspiration for us ladies.
WHY WOULD YOU RECOMMEND MOTORCYCLING?
Because it is great fun, improves self confidence and the overall feeling of happiness I feel when I'm on my bike.
